Sears closes its last store in Illinois, the state where it all began

End of an era. For someone of my generation, seeing Sears go bankrupt was almost like America going bankrupt! It was the go-to place for clothing, hardware, home appliances and more. Remember the Craftsman store brand? Guaranteed for life, with replacement at no cost. The company was so much a part of American life. It fell victim to a change in shopping habits, online not in person. I wonder what other changes will come in the next 25 years?

“The last Sears department store located in the retailer’s home state of Illinois is getting ready to close its doors for good. The shop, located in Simon Property Group’s Woodfield Mall, is scheduled to shutter on Nov. 14, the company confirmed to CNBC.”
