Intel and other chip companies are hiring students who are still in college to plug a labor shortage, a report says

“Chip makers in Oregon are hiring college students to ramp up production, The Oregonian reported. A massive semiconductor shortage has hit the production of cars, computers, and phones.”

How dependent the world has become on computer technology. A chip shortage can affect not just the computer industry, but the auto and cell phone businesses too. At the dawn of the age of personal computers, a chip shortage would have had little impact on society. Now, it could potentially affect global business and industry!
