“[Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron] Rodgers has tested positive for COVID and reportedly doesn’t meet the NFL and the Players Association’s standards for being ‘fully vaccinated’ either, despite misleading statements that he was, reports USA Today.
“In August, when asked whether he had been vaccinated, Rodgers responded, ‘Yes, I’ve been immunized.’ According to NFL.com, Rodgers had petitioned the NFL to recognize a homeopathic treatment he’d received from his personal doctor to ‘raise his antibody levels'”.

“HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The U.S. Federal Drug Administration is sending out a major warning about a parasite treatment often used in animals after misinformation has prompted people to take it to treat COVID-19. The FDA says it has not approved Ivermectin for use in treating or preventing COVID in humans. It’s actually intended for horses. Despite the warning, the FDA said it’s had multiple reports of patients who have been hospitalized after taking Ivermectin.”
When it comes to medicine intended for horses, say “neigh”.
Delta Airlines: $200 monthly premium increase for unvaccinated employees
“CEO Ed Bastian notified employees Wednesday that they will face $200 monthly increases on their health insurance premiums starting Nov. 1 if they aren’t vaccinated against Covid-19, citing steep costs to cover employees who are hospitalized with the virus.
“Unvaccinated employees will face other restrictions, including indoor masking effective immediately and weekly Covid-19 tests starting Sept. 12 the Atlanta-based airline said in announcing new Covid policies for employees.”
That’s one way to encourage employees to get vaccinated. They might have the freedom to choose the shot, but they don’t have the right to a job.
Vacation
How do you spend your vacation time? Big trip planned for months, or a quiet time at home relaxing and completing various projects? How has the pandemic altered your vacation plans? I had to cancel a long-awaited California trip in 2020 due to COVID; hoping the same doesn’t happen in 2021! I can’t wait for the crisis to be over so life can return to somewhat normal, though vacations (and many other aspects of life) will be changed forever!

From Barron’s: “The Delta variant, a more contagious mutation of the coronavirus, has quickly become the dominant strain in the U.S., accounting for the majority of infections in recent weeks. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said Friday that the spread was concentrated in areas where vaccination rates were relatively low. Walensky added that although new daily cases were up 70% in a week, hospitalization and death rates were climbing less quickly.”
