Jeff Bezos’ trip to space teaches important point

“You get up there, and it’s so tiny … It is a small little thing, and it is fragile and … drives home that point that we know theoretically, that we have to be careful with the Earth’s atmosphere. But it really makes it very powerful and real,” he said.

Humanity’s obsessions, desires, fears, and prejudices seem insignificant when looking down at our “pale blue dot” from space. We concentrate on our own lives without stopping to remember we are a speck in a vast universe, and each of us is on that speck for the blink of an eye —- then we are gone. How differently would we live if we kept those ideas in mind.
